Position SummaryThe Senior Technician position requires technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction.
Pay Range$20.60 – $31.15 hourly, based on average regional productivity.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair according to specifications – brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition and electrical systems, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non‑mechanical individuals.
- Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
- Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least three of A1–A8 within the first two years of employment.
- Valid automobile driver’s license at all times; able to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Demonstrated skill in brakes and hydraulics systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
- Skill in general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
- Current federal, state, and local certification/license where applicable.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical people.
- Reading, writing, and math skills.
- Three years of automotive repair experience or equivalent assessments/certifications, or completion of a vocational‑technical school program.
- A.S.E. certification in at least one of A1–A8 (L1 acceptable).
