The Operation Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations of the branch on a day-to-day basis. You will utilize your leadership, customer service and decision-making skills as you are the right hand to the Branch Manager.
Essential Functions- Maintain equipment for retail sales inventory
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the rental branch
- Verify account status and effectively communicate with the Credit Dept where necessary
- Responsible for completing requisitions to maintain adequate rental inventory levels
- Ensure that SOPs are being followed
- Complete weekly cycle counts of the rental fleet
- Check outgoing contracts for accuracy including rates, delivery fees and equipment numbers
- Responsible for all branch logistics
- Responsible to maintain the overall appearance and condition of the facility
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees
- Maintain employee timecards and PTO approvals Recognizes and celebrates employee achievements and milestones
- Addresses employee performance issues using performance management
- Develops talent
- Strong understanding of P&L and other key financial controls
- Strong work ethic and highly energetic
- Responsible for timely submission of all necessary reports
- The operations manager will be versed in the following topics:
- All aspects of the business operation and markets
- All safety regulations concerning the products, their safe use, and the safety of the facility
- Proper use of the equipment

RequiredEducation and Experience
- 2-4 years of rental and/or dealership experience
- Pump equipment experience preferred
- Experience processing detailed paperwork
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
- High School Diploma
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment
Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.
Supervisory Responsibilities- When Branch Manager is away the Operations Manager leads the branch with the assistance of District Manager
- Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes.
- Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment in operation.
- Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels.
- Duties may involve both shop-based tasks and fieldwork, including travel to remote job sites.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as needed.
- Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, performing tasks in confined spaces, or working from elevated positions.
- Lifting heavy components and materials is often required.
- Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as job site conditions and priorities can change rapidly.
- Occasional field location visits and overnight stays
- Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility to perform duties in jobsite and yard environments.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more, often without assistance.
- Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to secure loads, inspect vehicles, or perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on foot, often on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavement.
- Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or occasionally onto equipment is required.
- Must be able to work from various heights and maintain balance while performing tasks on steps, ladders, or platforms.
- Fine motor skills and good manual dexterity needed for handling controls, securing tie-downs, and completing documentation.
- Must be able to safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in potentially hazardous driving and yard conditions.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components may be required.
