As a Risk Mitigation Specialist, you will focus on identifying, analyzing, and reducing potential hazards in workplace operations. You will collaborate with safety teams to enhance risk management strategies and ensure compliance with EH&S regulations.

This position also contributes to Dows Path2

Zero (P2Z) initiative, a pioneering effort to achieve net-zero emissions at our Fort Saskatchewan site.

• Implements and maintains EH&S programs by following defined processes, policies, and performance standards.
• Ensures environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety guidelines are effectively embedded in plant operations.
• Acts as a central resource for EH&S knowledge, offering expertise on compliance and best practices.
• Serves as the key contact for any plant-related EH&S concerns.
• Provides training and coaching to individuals and teams on safety protocols.
• Assists in setting, monitoring, and achieving EH&S objectives for the facility.
• Ensures all required compliance and regulatory activities are completed efficiently.
• Conducts assessments related to environmental and industrial hygiene, compiling reports to support safety initiatives.

• Expertise in EH&S:
  Utilize comprehensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety to implement and maintain EH&S processes, fostering continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  Contribute to and lead the change management work process for EH&S-related initiatives.
• Safety Monitoring:
  Proficient in intervening in unsafe situations, escalating concerns when necessary, and providing coaching on safe work practices.
• Communication Competence:
  Expert in written, oral, visual, and digital communication, tailored for a professional setting.
• Team-Oriented:
  Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively to achieve common goals.

• High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in EH&S, OH&S, or a related field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role does not offer visa sponsorship or support.

• The position is based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.
• Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation assistance or reimburse travel expenses for those applying from outside the local area. Applicants will be responsible for all travel-related costs.
