Part-Time Forklift Technician Instructor
Cross Credit Industrial is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Part-Time Forklift Technician Instructor to support the development and delivery of a new Forklift Technician Program. This position is responsible for creating, implementing, and delivering curriculum that aligns with NCCER, OSHA, and forklift technician industry standards. The instructor will provide both classroom and hands-on instruction to students preparing for careers as forklift technicians.
This role also supports program development, instruction, assessment. This role is subject to a 12-hour week of instruction and training, over a 16-week semester, with this pattern continuing in subsequent semesters.
- Collaborate with Cross Credit Industrial leadership and site partners to develop, and refine the Forklift Technician curriculum in alignment with NCCER, OSHA, and forklift technician industry standards.
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction and hands-on training related to forklift maintenance, service, and repair.
- Prepare students for evaluations and assessments.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of training equipment and materials.
- Stay current with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in forklift technology and technician training.
- Frequent interaction with staff, students, industry partners, and the public.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience that satisfies one of the following three options:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Forklift Technician; or
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Lead or Supervisory Technician; or
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Technical Trainer or Instructor.
Strong knowledge of forklift systems, hydraulics, brake systems, electrical systems, batteries, masts, attachments, and safety procedures.
Ability to deliver effective classroom and hands-on instruction.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong conflict resolution, communication, and relationship management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Ability to travel.
Must possess of a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Preferred:
- Certifications to teach OSHA 10, NCCER Core Safety, and Forklift Operator training programs.
- Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials preferred.
- Experience working with industry companies, community colleges, and workforce development programs.
