This is a full-time, on-site Control Systems Engineer role located in Baytown, TX. The Control Systems Engineer will design, configure, and maintain control systems for industrial processes, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing control system architectures, specifying instrumentation, creating logic diagrams, and programming controllers and HMIs. The role involves troubleshooting control system and electrical issues in the field, supporting commissioning and start-up, and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and other engineering disciplines.
The engineer will also assist in system upgrades, documentation, and compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Process Control, including configuration, tuning, and optimization of control loops for industrial processes.
- Candidates should possess skills in Control Systems Design, such as creating system architectures, logic diagrams, and specifications for PLC, DCS, and safety systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Engineering related to control systems, including understanding power distribution, instrumentation wiring, and electrical standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in Systems Engineering, including integration of hardware and software components, interface management, and lifecycle support.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving control system, instrumentation, and electrical issues in operational environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities is highly beneficial.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISA, IEC, NFPA) is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information clearly.
