Position Title - Medical Laboratory Technologist
Reports To: Laboratory Manager/Laboratory Director
Job Description Position GoalsThis job description for the Medical Laboratory Technologist at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital provides criteria for the evaluation of performance, attitude, and discipline. The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing and overseeing moderate complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established protocols.
This position ensures that accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory results are produced for patient diagnosis and treatment. A key component of this role is to assist the Laboratory Manager/ Laboratory Director in maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality standards, supporting training and competency of personnel, and ensuring the overall integrity of the laboratory’s testing processes.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality.

The requirements for employment with Patients Emergency Room and Hospital are:
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CLIA/COLA standards, laboratory quality systems, and infection control procedures.
- Maintains continuing education and professional development as required by CLIA and hospital policy.
- Prior experience in laboratory quality assurance or compliance preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science.
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience in a CLIA-certified moderate complexity in Chemistry laboratory.
OR
- Associate’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science.
- Minimum 4 years of laboratory experience in a CLIA-certified moderate complexity in Chemistry laboratory.
Standing and walking Twisting
Lifting and Carrying Bending/Stooping
Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs., with assistance Working with chemicals
Working near Radiation sources
Potential exposure to communicable diseases
