** About the Role*
* We are seeking a skilled  
** Desktop Support Technician
** to support one of our direct clients in Baytown, TX. This role provides hands-on infrastructure support across desktop, server, domain, and network environments for a large research network consisting of approximately  
** 750 PCs, 60 network switches, 75 servers, and 1,000 users** .

The ideal candidate is a proactive IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting enterprise-level hardware and software environments.

** Key Responsibilities*
* ** Network & Infrastructure Support*
* + Install and support  
** Cisco workgroup switches**  (programming new switches, patching fiber/copper, port modifications).

+ Provide support for  
** network, domain, and server environments
** as needed.

** Desktop & Hardware Support*
* + Install, configure, and troubleshoot  
** PC hardware**  (Dell, HP, etc.).

+ Install additional hardware components (Ethernet cards, memory, etc.).

+ Support  
** server hardware
** installations (Dell).

** Software & Application Support*
* + Install and support software on PCs and servers (Microsoft, Symantec, SCCM).

+ Provide maintenance and updates through SCCM as required.

** Peripheral Device Support*
* + Support installation and troubleshooting of  
** printers and barcode readers**  (HP, Xerox, Zebra).

** Active Directory Administration*
* + Manage users, groups, policies, and general AD maintenance.

** Work Environment*
* + Standard business hours (Mon-Fri)

+ No on-call rotation

+  
** Quarterly Saturday work
** may be required for planned maintenance activities
