East Houston Medical Center - Baytown, Texas
East Houston Medical Center's Baytown facility is seeking IT Consultants to support technology operations, clinical systems, endpoint devices, user access, infrastructure projects, and staff support. This role is essential to maintaining reliable systems in a healthcare environment where downtime affects patient care.
About the RoleThe IT Consultant will assist with Microsoft 365, user accounts, workstations, shared devices, printers, network connectivity, clinical applications, security practices, and implementation projects. The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter who communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical users.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, shared workstations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and clinical peripherals.
- Assist with user provisioning, password resets, MFA, access changes, account lifecycle tasks, and basic identity management.
- Support Microsoft 365, Teams, email, endpoint security, device configuration, and productivity platforms.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN, remote access, printer mapping, application access, and hardware issues.
- Assist with EMR, lab, pharmacy, radiology, dietary, badge, and other healthcare application support as assigned.
- Configure, deploy, move, image, inventory, and retire devices according to facility standards.
- Document tickets, resolutions, assets, system changes, and recurring issues clearly.
- Follow HIPAA, cybersecurity, access control, change management, and least-privilege principles.
Full-time, part-time, and contract assignments may be available. Schedules may include business hours, project coverage, go-live support, after-hours maintenance, and urgent support needs.
Requirements Qualifications- Prior IT support, systems administration, helpdesk, desktop support, or technical consulting experience required.
- Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, Entra Active Directory, networking, printers, and endpoint troubleshooting preferred.
- Strong documentation, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support clinical users with urgency, patience, and professionalism.
