LDAR Inventory Projects Technician
Position performs activities related to LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) component inventory projects for multiple facilities. Requires 80-100% travel to petroleum refineries, chemical, or gas processing sites. Starting pay rate $20/hr.
Essential Functions- Understanding of EPA Method 21, inspection techniques, and instrument calibration.
- Identify process equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, flanges, and piping connections.
- Accurately perform administrative duties, including record‑keeping, documentation, receipts, and timesheets.
- Become proficient in field responsibilities: review Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), flag process lines and equipment, affix component inventory tags, and document required information.
- Perform QA/QC of work and uphold company standards.
- Know applicable regulatory requirements related to each facility.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot project equipment such as Toxic Vapor Analyzers (TVAs), electronic data recorders, and computers.
- Report OEL, AVO emissions, damage, or hazards to appropriate personnel.
- Complete required safety and site‑specific training and accreditations.
- Integrate safety into daily work, use all required PPE, and perform safety inspections as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of company property, including office, vehicle, and work areas.
- Aid other company projects or perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- No supervisory responsibilities; may provide guidance to other employees or individuals.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Pass all applicable safety training.
- Complete Transportation Working Identification Credential (TWIC) program and verify via TWIC card.
- Safety‑first attitude.
- Mechanical and hand‑tool knowledge; basic electrical and mechanical skills.
- Data entry using Alliance software.
- Work in physically demanding field conditions with physical endurance.
- Professional attitude and willingness to learn.
- Operate lifts, sky‑jacks, and other large equipment at heights.
- Recognize signs of heat stress, exhaustion, and emergency first aid.
- Valid driver’s license and meet Motor Vehicle Review requirements.
- Communicate effectively with associates and customers.
- Read, count, and write accurately to complete documentation.
Extensive travel to industrial sites with hazardous or extreme conditions. May involve extreme heights and intense emotional stress.
Physical Demands- Outdoor work in refineries, chemical or gas processing facilities; walking and standing for prolonged periods.
- Adverse weather conditions (extreme heat/cold, inclement weather).
- Carry equipment up to 15‑25 lbs. in a backpack.
- Ascend stairs, climb vertical ladders, and work from heights that may exceed 300 feet with fall protection.
- Wear PPE, including hardhat, fire‑retardant coveralls, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety boots, and 5‑point harness when required.
80‑100% travel to and from petroleum refineries, chemical, or gas processing facilities. Weekend travel may be required depending on site remoteness.
