The Senior Manager I, Import Operations
- Market Dray Manager leads the execution of import supply chain initiatives by managing container movements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. The role oversees service provider performance, develops business plans, drives continuous improvement, mentors associates, and maintains effective communication with stakeholders to support efficient and cost‑effective import operations aligned with company standards and objectives.
- Drive execution of multiple business plans by identifying operational needs, developing priorities, and removing obstacles to enhance performance.
- Supervise and develop associates through training, mentoring, performance evaluations, and coaching to build a collaborative team environment.
- Manage movement of over 80,000 containers by coordinating with merchants, customs, and transportation managers to ensure delivery compliance.
- Oversee port and service provider compliance, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to maintain regulatory standards and process control.
- Analyze financial results of service providers, develop cost‑reduction solutions, and manage invoice approvals up to $200 million annually.
- Maintain and enhance container visibility tools, train users, and implement system updates across markets.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience managing complex import operations and supply chain projects with a focus on execution and performance improvement.
- Strong leadership skills in supervising, mentoring, and developing teams to achieve operational goals and maintain high performance standards.
- Expertise in managing port and service provider compliance, including regulatory requirements and contract deliverables.
- Ability to analyze financial results, develop cost‑reduction strategies, and manage profit and loss for assigned facilities.
- Proficiency in coordinating cross‑functional teams and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated adaptability, problem‑solving skills, and commitment to continuous learning and process enhancement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, transportation, logistics, or related area and 2 years of experience in supply chain management or related area.
- Or 4 years of experience in supply chain management or related area.
- 1 year experience with word processing or database applications (e.g., MS Office, Excel, Access).
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business or related field.
