Packaging Engineer, Operations Engineer
Description
Packaging Operators report to the In-Plant Operations Supervisor and are directly responsible for performing essential packaging functions in a safe and productive environment. They are responsible for the safe movement and packaging of all customers’ product, for checking and completing all required paperwork, and may also be required to maintain inventories, operate forklifts, perform light maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment. Packaging Operators will need to communicate any issues to management and maintenance to maintain 100% uptime on production and will comply with all company and customer site‑specific requirements.
Summaryof Essential Job Functions
- Operate and maintain safe packaging, material handling, and visual inspection operations within the guidelines and policy.
- Comply with all Company and customer safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Utilize any onsite Safety programs such as the JLA process.
- Operate and maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and 5S methodology.
- Maintain housekeeping in the designated workspace around the warehouse packaging and material handling operation.
- Operate with quality assurance in adherence to standards and requirements.
- Makes constructive procedural and operational improvement recommendations to the Management.
- Efficiently manage own time, activities, and resources; identify specific activities required to accomplish objectives and coordinate action to achieve required results.
- Perform tasks as assigned by supervision and/or management.
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
- Support the efforts of management in meeting profit and growth objectives as established in the strategic business plan.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and the organizations.
- Work safely, within the company guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Must be able to pass the site’s required background screening.
- Must be able to pass the site’s required drug & alcohol screening.
- Must be able to pass the site's required HASC/ISTC safety council classes.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Packaging Operations: 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operational coverage required to always ensure uptime for Plant Processing/Production Operations.
- Rotating days/nights shift work
, 12‑hour shifts, on a 4 on/4 off schedule.
