Objective / Purpose
Receive, unload, load, move, weigh, stack, and stage materials using a forklift or skid steer. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Areas of Responsibility / TasksPerformance must reflect an appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.
Unload product by operating a forklift or skid steer while using appropriate handling and safety techniques.
Load hoppers with material from lanes or grain trailer using a skid steer.
Segregate material through the use of a forklift or skid steer, weigh, label, check, and stage inbound material correctly.
Check material in lanes to ensure the paperwork description aligns correctly.
Set-up supplies needed to prepare hopper for loading.
Assist in the cleaning of trenches through the use of vacuum equipment.
On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Sign/ Date and complete all required paperwork for each load.
Maintain good housekeeping using organizational skills and follow safety policies.
Follow work instructions and safety policies.
May be asked to assist in physical/cycle counts.
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
Identify damages, and report overages/shortages or quality deficiencies.
Perform any additional tasks given by the Supervisor.
Education
High school or educational equivalent.
Qualifications:
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to follow instructions given for daily tasks.
Knowledge of proper PPE in differing tasks.
Experience:
Proven work experience in operating a forklift within a warehouse environment.
Skid steer experience, preferred.
Skills:
Considerate and respectful to coworkers.
Good math, language, and reading skills.
The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience and therefore must be adaptable to.
This job primarily operates in a warehouse setting and must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

Occasionally sitting on a powered industrial truck such as forklifts or skid steers.
Frequently lift up to 55 lbs. and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time.
Climb on and off equipment repeatedly.
