Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Baytown, TX is hiring a LDAR Technician to monitor emissions, calibrate equipment, and identify leaks in industrial settings.
As a LDAR Technician, you will use an analyzer and electronic data recorder to accurately monitor assigned routes, calibrate equipment for optimum performance, and report daily monitoring results. You’ll also identify leads and process leak tags, upload data to the customer database, and communicate with plant and office personnel.
Responsibilities- Plan and carry out monitoring tasks with minimal supervision.
- Operate portable analyzer and electronic data collector.
- Analyze data, evaluate situations, and identify problems or opportunities.
- Ensure internal and external customer needs are met with satisfactory results.
- Adapt quickly to change and be open to new approaches.
- Develop factual, logical courses of action considering resources and constraints.
- Monitor components in an industrial environment to detect emissions from process equipment.
- Perform monitoring activities for an assigned route within a prescribed period of time.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure optimum performance and make minor mechanical adjustments when needed.
- Identify leaks and process leak tags.
- Upload daily monitoring activity to the customer database and complete daily emissions monitoring reports.
- Communicate daily equipment changes with office personnel.
- Coordinate with plant personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat or cold).
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving abilities a plus.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Valid TWIC required or ability to obtain TWIC.
