FlexSteel - Respool Operator

Position: FlexSteel - Respool Operator - I
This is a Flex Steel position and is located in Baytown, TX.

Rotating 2 weeks on day shift 2 weeks on night shift.

Hours:

7am- 7pm and 7pm-7am

SUMMARY

The Level 1 Respool Operator is responsible for operating or supporting the operation of production equipment and processes related to manufacturing flexible pipe.

* The purpose of this position is to operate, or support the operation of, production equipment and perform processes related to manufacturing flexible pipe.

* Respool Operators participate in a structured on-the-job training program to develop basic skills through the completion of competency modules and hands-on training.

* Follows all safety protocols and quality procedures.

* Reports to and supports the Lead Operator and Supervisor.

* Assists in equipment setup, operation, and material handling.

* Maintains a clean work environment and completes assigned tasks.

* Completes required documentation and uses ERP scanning system.

* Performs final packaging on reels and coils.

* Begins training on HCR platform operation and heavy forklift use.

4).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma or GED

* Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

* At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment is preferred.

* Knowledge of mechanics, metal forming, and/or extrusion equipment and processes is preferred.

* Candidate must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Candidate must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

* Candidates must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

* Candidates must be able to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.

This position operates in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

* Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly

* Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)

* Climb stairs and ladders

* Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach

* Work in confined spaces when required

* Operate heavy equipment and power tools

* Perform repetitive movements
