Operations Manager

Location:
Baytown, TX
- Responsible for all material handling operations and inventory control. Collaborates with Purchasing and Planning to ensure the smooth flow of raw material into and through the plant. Executes process improvements in all areas. Implements processes and programs to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintains accurate inventory records, monitors stock levels, and implements strategies to prevent overstocking or shortages.
- Oversees the storage and handling of materials in operations, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
- Inspects incoming materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collaborates with production teams, logistics providers, and other departments to ensure smooth material flow.
- Investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies.
- Implements new processes and procedures to ensure the ERP system accurately reflects current inventory state.
This position will direct or coordinate the work activities of others, including:
- Yard Manager
- Inventory Control Specialists
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
- 7–10 years of experience in Supply Chain roles at a manufacturer
- Experience managing an hourly workforce
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with vendors
- Understanding of supply chain principles and logistics
- Experience in cost management and budgeting
- Leadership skills to manage a team of warehouse personnel
- Background checks, Medical examinations, Safety certifications, Valid driver s license, Ability to wear PPE
- Working in various weather conditions, Travel to remote locations

Field, Branch, Shop, & Plant positions operate in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. The employee must:
- Lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Work in confined spaces when required
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools
- Perform repetitive movements
The work environment may include industrial/field settings with manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. The employee may:
- Be exposed to extreme weather conditions
- Be exposed to loud noise requiring hearing protection
- Work in high places and confined spaces
- Be exposed to dust, fumes, and chemicals
- Work around moving mechanical parts
- Work in hot and cold temperatures
Requirements include:
- Wear required PPE
- Follow safety protocols and procedures
- Participate in regular safety training
- Complete required safety certifications
- Comply with environmental regulations
