We have a full‑time opportunity for a Refrigeration Technician. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating process refrigeration systems, and supporting various Business Units. The technician will work 12‑hour rotating shifts and typically have experience with anhydrous ammonia.

Qualified candidates may receive a $5,000 sign‑on bonus upon hiring, subject to eligibility and retention requirements.
- Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate Process Refrigeration Systems (includes start‑up & shut‑down).
- Perform shutdown maintenance & repairs on Process Refrigeration Systems.
- Provide maintenance, operation and emergency response for Process Refrigeration Machines.
- Perform the transfer of refrigerants (ammonia & CFCs) and refrigerant oils to meet environmental regulatory requirements.
- Comply with EPA regulatory requirements of Texas Commission on Environmental Quality & Refrigerant Compliance Management (ammonia emissions tracking & CFC refrigerant tracking).
- Respond to and mitigate leaks on Process Refrigeration Machines containing ammonia.
- Read & understand P&’s & electrical control diagrams.
- Execute preventative/predictive maintenance, unit readings (SKF software).
- Write Level 2 Work Plans for ammonia‑related work on Process Refrigeration Machines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in repair and maintenance of industrial or commercial large tonnage refrigeration systems.
- 3 years of experience maintaining industrial or commercial refrigeration control systems (preferably in a chemical production or support facility).
- Eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Associate degree or certification from a technical school or military technical experience.
- Possess a 24‑Hour Haz‑Mat certification or be willing to complete the required training.
- Experience with screw compressor refrigeration (ammonia & CFC).
- Ability to troubleshoot analog, pneumatic, micro‑processor & computer‑based issues.
- Experience with control systems on process refrigeration equipment.
- Experience with absorption refrigeration units (ARUs).
- Federal EPA refrigerant certification (Type 2 and Type 3 or universal).
- Knowledge of 5S or lean manufacturing methodology.
- SAP knowledge.
- Microsoft Office experience and experience with computer‑based training.
- Fit tested for respiratory protection.
- Routine lifting of 50 pounds while performing normal duties.
- Ready to walk, stand, kneel for extended periods of time, climb stairs, vertical ladders, and work at heights more than 100 ft.
