Key Responsibilities- Conduct visual and measurement inspections on incoming and in-process materials.
- Confirm quality and specifications, communicate required adjustments, and reject or return unacceptable materials as necessary.
- Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand product requirements.
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests.
- Return products for re‑work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re‑work.
- Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs.
- Ensure measurement equipment is operating correctly by following operating instructions and performing preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Seek opportunities to adjust and improve production processes and procedures.
- Inform supervisor when quality issues and concerns arise.
- Assist the supervisor, as needed, with various audits and compliance projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Typically requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience, and may require vocational or technical education.
Knowledge and Skills- Working knowledge of and ability to use multiple types of measuring equipment (e.g., scales, measuring tapes, micrometers, calipers).
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to analyze and present findings in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
- Good organization, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and work in a fast‑paced environment.
The pay range for this position is $21.15 to $33.85 per hour. A competitive wage for new hires typically falls between $21.15 and $22.00. The starting rate may vary based on market data and other factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for short‑term incentive.
