East Houston Medical Center – Baytown, Texas
East Houston Medical Center’s Baytown facility is seeking Medical Surgical LVNs who take pride in dependable patient care, accurate follow-through, and respectful communication. This role supports the nursing team by providing direct care within LVN scope while helping maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming unit environment.
About the RoleThe Med-Surg LVN works under the direction of an RN or licensed provider and contributes meaningfully to daily patient care. This position is well suited for an LVN who is detail-oriented, comfortable with hospital workflows, and committed to supporting patients throughout their recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care within Texas LVN scope of practice and facility policy.
- Administer approved medications and treatments as ordered and document care accurately.
- Monitor vital signs, patient comfort, intake and output, symptoms, and visible changes in condition.
- Promptly report concerns, abnormal findings, or changes in patient status to the RN or provider.
- Assist with wound care, specimen collection, mobility support, hygiene needs, and daily care activities.
- Support patient education by reinforcing instructions provided by the RN or provider.
- Help prepare patients for procedures, transfers, discharges, and routine care activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment that supports quality care.
Full-time and part-time schedules may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday coverage depending on patient census and unit needs.
Qualifications- Active LVN license in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Med-Surg, long-term acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or hospital experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, RNs, providers, and support staff.
- Strong reliability, documentation accuracy, and attention to patient safety.
