East Houston Medical Center – Baytown, Texas
East Houston Medical Center’s Baytown facility is seeking ER LVNs to support the Emergency Department with responsive, organized, and patient-focused care. This position is ideal for LVNs who are comfortable moving quickly, assisting multiple clinical team members, and helping maintain efficient patient flow.
About the RoleThe ER LVN works under the direction of an RN or provider and assists with patient monitoring, treatment support, documentation, discharge preparation, and emergency department operations. The right candidate understands the importance of urgency, accuracy, and calm communication in an emergency setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient intake, vital signs, basic clinical observations, and ongoing monitoring within LVN scope.
- Provide approved medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as directed by the RN or provider.
- Support ED nurses and providers during procedures, patient movement, room turnover, and care coordination.
- Collect specimens, prepare supplies, assist with wound care, and help maintain patient readiness for exams or procedures.
- Report changes in condition, abnormal findings, pain concerns, or patient safety risks promptly.
- Assist with discharge instructions, patient education reinforcement, and follow-up coordination as assigned.
- Document care, interventions, and patient responses clearly and on time.
- Follow emergency department safety, EMTALA, HIPAA, and infection prevention standards.
Full-time and part‑time schedules may include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and peak‑volume periods based on Emergency Department staffing needs.
Requirements Qualifications- Active LVN license in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS preferred or required within facility‑defined timeframe.
- Emergency Department, urgent care, clinic, EMS, or high‑volume clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining professionalism, safety, and documentation quality.
