Flex Steel - Quality Control Technician - I
Flex Steel ( ) is an innovation-driven flexible pipe technology company. The Company emphasizes Safety, Quality, Human Development, Delivery, Innovation, Productivity, and excellence. This position is located in Baytown, TX and is part of the Flex Steel team. Training period is 30 days: 7am-7pm; after training: 7pm-7am.
Location:
FS - Baytown, Baytown, TX 77523, USA. This is a Flex Steel position and is located in Baytown, TX.
- Provide Quality representation for the assigned shift.
- Prepare Quality shift reports as needed.
- Perform Quality inspection audits, identify anomalies, write and route NCR/AR/SDR, and perform inspection training.
- Ensure process inspections are adequate and in compliance with the Quality System.
- Document own work and verify that proper procedures are followed.
- Research and prepare records for processing. Track documents and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Lead or other Group Leads.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED, plus quality systems training, ANST Level II certification in at least one discipline.
- 2-4 years hands-on inspection experience, including documented safety training and general leadership ability, or an equivalent combination.
- All requirements must be accomplished in primary language, English.
- Knowledge of quality systems, including understanding of ISO 9001 and API.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; effectively present information to management or other groups.
- Mathematical ability: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; interpret rates, ratios, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to prepare, interpret and present reports to management.
- Ability to write, edit and implement quality process procedures.
- Complete required basic skills and perquisite training associated with the Quality Group.
- Apply common sense in following written, oral, or diagram instructions; handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- General understanding of the assigned Quality department duties; ability to recognize potential problems and report them promptly; work with HSEQ teams in problem-solving.
- Attention to detail; ability to lead in process analysis and preventive actions.
- Ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers.
- Must be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Regular attendance; may require background checks, medical examinations, safety certifications, valid driver’s license, PPE, and travel to remote locations.
- This position operates in an industrial/field environment with manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. You may be required to lift/move up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, work in confined spaces, operate heavy equipment and power tools, and perform repetitive movements.
- Industrial/field environment with exposure to extreme weather, loud noise, high places and confined spaces, dust, fumes, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts; work in hot and cold temperatures.
- Wear required PPE; follow all safety protocols and procedures; participate in safety training; complete required safety certifications; comply with environmental regulations.
