Shift/Schedule

Rotating shift (minimum 12 hours a day) plus on‑call hours.

What you’ll do
  • Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
  • Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships, and complete associated paperwork.
  • Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
  • Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.
  • Perform routine equipment calibrations, verifications, and function checks.
  • Verify and communicate results, make entries into appropriate media.
  • Provide on‑the‑job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors.
  • Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties.
  • Monitor availability of supplies needed for processes and report needs to dispatcher or coordinator.
  • Organize and coordinate jobs so that services are rendered and reports and samples are submitted timely.
  • Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Ability to work on an on‑call basis.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must have a flexible schedule as the position will include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on customer need.
  • High tolerance for job pressure and extended hours.
  • Some experience with volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required).
  • Must have or be able to acquire a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Detail‑oriented and able to prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting, and driving.
  • Two years of experience in petroleum inspections.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications
  • Basic grasp of mathematics and experience working in an automated environment.
  • No fear of heights.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound suggestions or recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • IFIA/TIC certifications are a plus.
