Boiler Heat Exchanger Technician
The Boiler Heat Exchanger Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of boiler systems and heat exchangers. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards while working in industrial or commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities Installation & Maintenance- Install, maintain, and repair boiler systems, heat exchangers, and associated equipment.
- Perform tube cleaning, replacement, and repair of heat exchangers and boilers.
- Conduct hydrostatic testing and pressure vessel inspections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in boiler systems and heat exchangers.
- Replace defective components, such as tubes, gaskets, or valves.
- Ensure proper alignment and operation of all systems.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety guidelines.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to site safety protocols.
- Assist in hazard identification and implement corrective actions.
- Record and document maintenance activities, including completed repairs, parts used, and observations during inspections.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment performance and service schedules.
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Assist in training new team members and providing technical support as needed.
1-2 years of experience in boiler and heat exchanger maintenance, repair, or installation.
Education and Certifications- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certifications in boiler operation, welding, or HVAC are advantageous.
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and varying temperatures.
- Extended standing, bending, and kneeling as required by job tasks.
- Industrial work environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment.
- May require overtime, weekends, and on-call availability during outages or emergencies.
