WhatYou Will Do
- Lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials using mechanical equipment
- Attaching loads using chains, slings, cables, hooks, and other related equipment
- Able to manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment
- Attach and detach loads effectively
- Monitor and maintain all rigging equipment
- Communicate effectively with the rigging team (other riggers and crane operator)
- Familiar with standard crane hand signals
- Assess weights of loads and equipment needed to lift safely
- Actively participate in a strong safety culture
- Recognize safety hazards and risks
- Participate in onsite safety meetings
- Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures
- Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite
- Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work
- Maintain a positive attitude and work in a team environment
- Work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations
- Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
- Stand for extended periods (up to 11 hours per day) with breaks given in 2.5‑hour intervals
- Use arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending regularly
- Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a rigger or ironworker
- NCCER Rigger Certification Level 1
- Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices
- Knowledgeable of crane signals (hand and verbal)
- Travel required with extended periods away from home in remote areas
- Work shifts up to 12 hours per day and up to 7 days per week when needed by project schedule
- Meet all physical demands of the job
- Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
- More than 3 years of experience as an ironworker or rigger
- NCCER Rigger Certification Level 2 or higher
