• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Efficiently and safely operate heavy mobile equipment of various sizes and weights associated with open pit mining.
• Perform minor service and maintenance on equipment.
• Recognize and document potential job hazards in compliance with company policies.
• Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Operate in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial conditions.
• Work all shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least eight hours.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including safety equipment usage.

• Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
• Recognize safety hazards and risks.
• Participate in on‑site safety meetings.
• Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
• Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.
• Arrive on time, ready for work.
• Display a positive attitude and work effectively in a team environment.

• Work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations.
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods up to 11 hours per day with breaks in 2.5‑hour intervals.
• Perform movements such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending regularly.
• Has good hand‑eye coordination.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools.

• Six months or more of experience operating construction or mining equipment such as:
  • End dump truck – Caterpillar 770 class or larger
  • Excavator – Caterpillar 325 class or larger
  • Front‑end loader – Caterpillar 950 class or larger
  • Dozer – Caterpillar D8 class or larger
  • Wirtgen Surface Miner 2200SM

• Willing and able to work in an industrial environment as described.
• Willing and able to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to adhere to the safety regulations of the position.
• Willing and able to work all shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days a week as required by the project.

• One year or more of experience working with construction and/or mining equipment.
• Current 48 MSHA training.
