Overview

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering‑construction company headquartered in Katy, TX, specializing in natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical projects. OPD is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization.

Position

Laborer – Baytown, TX. This role supports construction activities on active job sites.

Responsibilities
  • General housekeeping
  • Shoveling and compacting dirt, breaking or chipping concrete, and removing concrete forms
  • Assisting craft workers by carrying tools and moving materials to work areas
  • Using tools such as jack hammers, dirt compactors, shovels, chipping guns, framing hammers, and crow bars
  • Performing any additional duties as required
Expected Conduct
  • Actively participate in a strong safety culture
  • Recognize and report safety hazards and risks
  • Participate in onsite safety meetings
  • Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain awareness of changing conditions on an active jobsite
  • Be on time daily, ready for work
  • Display a positive attitude and collaborate with team members
Physical Demands
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations
  • Lift and carry awkward objects up to 60 lbs
  • Stand for extended periods up to 11 hours per day with 2.5‑hour breaks
  • Frequent use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending
  • Work on elevated platforms, maintaining balance on narrow beams and pipes while wearing a full‑body harness and lanyard
  • Maintain good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity
Other Requirements
  • Travel is required, including extended periods away from home in remote areas
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness to operate on scaffolds and at high elevations
  • Ability to meet all basic physical requirements and attend mandatory safety meetings
