Electrician Helper - Austin Industrial (Baytown, TX)

Assist electrician in the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Assist in the diagnosis of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

• Gather tools and supplies to be used at the work site according to the instructions of the electrician.
• Measure, cut and bend wire and conduit, using a ruler and hand tools.
• Drill holes for wiring, using a power drill and pull or push wiring through opening.
• Trace out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
• Assist in lifting, positioning or fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
• Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches.
• May disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or defective parts and reassemble equipment.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience: 2 years of helper‑level experience.

Certifications and Licenses: Valid Driver's License, TDLR Card, State Electrical Application.
