Insulator Foreman

This person will supervise the construction, application, removal, and repair of insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings, to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must have insulator skills and experience.
• Supervise construction and application of insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures.
• Read blueprints and select required insulation material.
• Apply adhesives or attach metal adhesive to insulation material.
• Select and determine amounts of insulation material (sheet, tubular, or roll) based on heat retention, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape using measuring devices, handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap or attach required insulation material around or to structure following blueprint specifications.
• Seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
• Work at heights, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for long periods.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

• NCCER Insulator certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 4 years foreman experience.
