Serves as Head Coach of the City of Baytown Youth Summer Track Program, leading the planning, organization, and daily operations of a fun and engaging recreational track experience for local youth. This role is responsible for conducting structured practices, instructing athletes in fundamental track and field skills, fostering sportsmanship and teamwork, and motivating participants to build confidence and reach their personal best.

The Head Coach creates a positive, inclusive environment that supports skill development, encourages healthy competition, and ensures a safe and rewarding experience for every athlete.

Duties

* Plans, develops and implements the track program in accordance with TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) and Hershey's league policies and procedures.

* Trains, instructs and supervises athletes in a variety of track skills and techniques; teaches rules, conduct and safety; provides a variety of guidance, instruction and experience to enhance athletes personal, physical and social growth and development.

* Plans and conducts regularly scheduled practice sessions.

* Coaches and supervises athletes during track meets.

* Supervises and assigns assistant track coaches; conducts coaching meetings; evaluates and improves track program.

* Coordinates a variety of scheduling, including transportation, practice facilities, and registration.

* All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

* Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver's license within 90 days).

* First Aid and CPR certified.

* Track & Field Experience

* Demonstrated prior supervisory Experience

Preferred:

* Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university

* Two years directly related experience

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Motivational, effective communication, behavior management skills with the ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public. Track coaching techniques, be familiar with track rules and regulations.
