This is a Flex Steel position and is located in Baytown, TX.

* Under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks

* Check deliveries for accuracy (quantity, part numbers, condition)

* Match items to purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices

* Document discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages)

* Enter receipts into inventory or ERP systems

* Label and route received items to the appropriate departments

* Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders

* Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and other paperwork

* Verify items against sales or shipping orders

* Ensure proper packaging to prevent damage in transit

* Load shipments onto trucks or railcars, ensuring secure placement

* Maintain accurate stock levels through data entry

* Track and record movement of materials in and out of the warehouse

* Help organize and maintain storage and staging areas

* Alert supervisors to low stock or inventory discrepancies

* Use inventory, WMS, or ERP systems

* Maintain shipping and receiving logs

* Process returns, RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations), and restocks

* Communicate with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams

* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment

* Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines

* Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards

* Keep shipping and receiving areas clean and hazard-free

* Liaise with carriers, drivers, and delivery personnel

* Resolve shipping issues (missed pickups, incorrect deliveries)

* Coordinate with internal departments on urgent orders or special shipments

* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and QUALIFICATIONS

* At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment is preferred.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Must possess the ability to read and understand load Sheets, locations, and differentiate between similar parts.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
