East Houston Medical Center’s Baytown facility is seeking Drivers to support safe, reliable transportation of approved materials, supplies, documents, specimens, equipment, and assigned operational items. This role helps departments stay connected and ensures time‑sensitive deliveries are completed professionally.
About the RoleThe Driver supports transportation needs across the facility and related service areas while maintaining confidentiality, safety, and accurate delivery practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, careful with materials, and committed to representing the facility professionally.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate facility vehicles and follow all traffic laws, facility policies, and assigned routes.
- Transport supplies, equipment, documents, lab specimens, pharmacy items, and approved materials as directed.
- Complete pickups and deliveries accurately, securely, and within expected time frames.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, mileage logs, inspection records, and basic safety checks.
- Report delays, vehicle issues, delivery concerns, accidents, or safety risks promptly.
- Follow chain‑of‑custody, confidentiality, and handling procedures when transporting sensitive materials.
- Communicate professionally with departments, vendors, patients, visitors, and staff.
- Support operations, supply chain, pharmacy, lab, administration, and facilities needs as assigned.
Full‑time and part‑time schedules may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and variable routes based on operational needs.
Qualifications- Valid driver’s license required.
- Prior courier, healthcare transport, logistics, delivery, or facilities support experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and move items safely as required by assignment.
- Strong punctuality, reliability, route awareness, and professional communication.
