About the RoleISO Workforce Alliance is partnering with a welcoming and collaborative school community in Beach Park, Illinois to place a Student Services / Special Education Resource Teacher for the current or upcoming school year.
This role is ideal for a mission-driven educator who is passionate about supporting students with disabilities in a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. You will serve as a key member of the Student Services team, ensuring that students receive individualized instruction, meaningful accommodations, and legally compliant special education services.
As an ISO-supported teacher, you will receive dedicated recruiter support, onboarding assistance, and ongoing advocacy throughout your assignment.
What You’ll DoAs a Special Education Resource Teacher, you will:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with IDEA and Illinois state requirements
- Provide direct specialized instruction to students in a resource setting
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Collect and analyze student data to guide instructional decisions
- Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready special education documentation
- Partner with related service providers including school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers
- Promote a classroom culture that emphasizes respect, belonging, and independence
Candidates must hold:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:
- Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred)
- Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and Illinois special education regulations
- Prior experience in a resource or inclusion setting
- Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Familiarity with Illinois special education documentation systems
- Background in behavior supports or MTSS frameworks
