Job OverviewRegistered Nurse for the Surgical Unit II at Community Medical Center (CMC). CMC is a 592‑bed acute care hospital in Ocean County.
Qualifications- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- BLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- BSN (preferred; must be completed within 5 years upon hire)
- Day shift, 24 hours per week
- Organize and administer individualized, age‑specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital to support medical care.
- Provide nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Maintain the standards of nursing care as established.
- Use an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age‑specific needs and provide age‑specific treatment.
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Assure safety in practice and engage in evidence‑based practice by maintaining a realistic understanding of your level of knowledge and experience, and by advancing knowledge of yourself and others through communication with and utilization of resource persons and programs available.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles, unsecured areas) and medical errors.
- Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient‑care providers.
- Consistently set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Serve as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.
