What you’ll do:
This position supports Eaton’s consolidated financial reporting process. The primary responsibility is to oversee Eaton's Treasury Center accounting activities, including Eaton Total Cash Analysis, manage legal entity simplification projects for the finance function, and supervise 2‑3 treasury accountants. The role will collaborate on issues with global corporate functions such as Treasury, Tax, GFA CoE's, and IT.
- Oversee Eaton's Treasury Center accounting. Collaborate with Global Controllers and Treasury teams on all treasury accounting activity to provide accurate financial results.
- Manage a staff of 2‑3 treasury accountants responsible for various areas of Treasury Accounting including debt reporting, factoring, capital markets, and treasury center accounting.
- Collaborate with Treasury and GFA Reporting CoE regarding total Eaton cash activity.
- Lead the finance team on legal entity simplification projects (tax‑driven projects); ensure proper US GAAP treatment of all entity eliminations.
- Maintain legal entity organizational listing.
- Actively participate in finance transformation and accounting centralization for Treasury Accounting areas.
- Support External Audit requests and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) documentation and testing.
- Drive process improvement and efficiencies within the team.
- Provide US GAAP guidance/support related to tax projects.
- Prepare accounting memos associated with both tax and non‑tax driven transactions/projects.
- Create and foster a collaborative working environment with business partners in tax, treasury, GFA CoE's, and the business units.
Required (Basic)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting/finance experience.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50‑mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active duty military service members are exempt from the geographical limitation.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or graduate degree in business, finance, or accounting from an accredited institution.
- Managerial/supervisory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong software and systems skills (Oracle, SAP, FCCS, Microsoft Office).
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to improve processes, both technical and analytical.
- Ability to implement new accounting policies or systems.
- Ability to adapt well to changes and/or drive changes.
- Ability to identify and solve problems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
- Ability to express the complex in simple, easy‑to‑grasp ways, verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable and confident speaking with senior leadership.
- 10% travel required.
