Revenue Recognition Center Of Excellence (COE) Specialist

Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Revenue Recognition Center Of Excellence (COE) Specialist.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You'll Do:

This position is based at our North American HQ in Beachwood, OH with hybrid work available. If candidates are not located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH relocation will be considered within the continental US.

Position Overview:

The Revenue Recognition COE Specialist ensures accurate US GAAP (ASC 606) revenue recognition for organizational arrangements. This role handles complex revenue accounting, including contract review, monthly close, and journal entries, while maintaining compliance with company policies and SOX controls and supporting process and system improvements. You will work closely with the CoE leadership, Finance, and IT to maintain accurate revenue reporting and assist with automation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Analysts with preparing and posting revenue-related journal entries in compliance with ASC 606.
  • Perform contract review and identify performance obligations for standard and non-standard arrangements.
  • Calculate and allocate transaction price, including SSP analysis and variable consideration estimates.
  • Partner with the business and operations finance teams to determine percent complete/milestones and project margins to ensure accurate and timely recognition.
  • Reconcile revenue subledger to the general ledger and investigate variances.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain documentation for SOX controls and assist in audit requests.
  • Ensure adherence to company revenue recognition policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or accounting corporate roles. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred qualifications:
Masters degree. CPA or equivalent

Position Criteria:
Working knowledge of ASC 606 principles and application; strong technical accounting skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts in clear, business-friendly language. Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and revenue automation tools. Advanced proficiency with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and process automation. Attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
