Work Study, Student Support (Transfer Center)

Learning Objectives:

• Office Management Skills — Learn core administrative procedures, including student intake, use of office equipment, filing, data entry, and working with the MS Office suite.
• Transfer Preparation Support — Assist students with university transfer processes such as applications, FAFSA questions, and navigating tools like Transferology.
• Customer Service — Provide front-desk support by answering phones, greeting visitors, checking in students, scheduling appointments, directing guests, and sharing transfer resources.
• Marketing & Communication — Support promotion of Transfer Center events and services.
• Event Management — Help plan and execute Transfer Center events, including preparation, setup, registration, and way finding.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
• Adhere to College's confidentiality policy;
• Successfully pass background/drug screening;
• Answer phone and take messages;
• Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
• Open and sort mail;
• Strong interpersonal communication skills;
• Willingness to learn new technology;
• Assist with special projects;
• Other duties as assigned.
