Position Summary

The HR Generalist supports and executes a broad range of Human Resources functions for Attain Behavioral Health, serving as a key partner in recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, performance support, HR reporting, and daily HR operations. This role plays a vital part in fostering a positive, compliant, and employee-centered workplace culture across the organization. The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership and staff to ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals while supporting a mission-driven environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and onboarding support.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and support workforce planning initiatives.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a positive and compliant new hire experience.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements including background checks, health screenings, credentialing, and licensure verification/renewals.
  • Maintain recruitment and applicant tracking data while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Employee Relations & HR Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, leave, PTO, payroll processes, and workplace procedures.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist management with employee relations matters, documentation, coaching conversations, and performance-related processes.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and workplace expectations.
  • Support conflict resolution and elevate concerns appropriately to HR leadership.
Benefits & HR Administration
  • Administer employee benefits including enrollments, status changes, terminations, and employee communications.
  • Assist employees with HRIS functionality and troubleshooting (Finger Check experience preferred).
  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation in compliance with organizational and legal standards.
  • Generate HR reports, metrics, and workforce data to support operational decision-making.
  • Support payroll coordination and auditing processes as needed.
HR Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, HIPAA, and wage and hour requirements.
  • Track and monitor employee certifications, continuing education, credentialing, and licensure renewals for clinical staff.
  • Assist with policy updates, handbook revisions, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personnel and organizational information.
  • Participate in HR projects, process improvements, training initiatives, and departmental planning efforts.
  • Support HR leadership with administrative tasks, reporting, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-4+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and compliance.
