Insight Global is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure environments across server, storage, virtualization, and backup technologies. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of both Windows and Linux systems, with a strong emphasis on Oracle Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
This position will play a key role in supporting infrastructure operations, improving system performance and reliability, and contributing to projects related to virtualization, storage, backup/recovery, and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support enterprise Windows Server and Linux environments, with a focus on Oracle Linux and RHEL
- Manage and maintain virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, and Hyper‑V
- Support enterprise storage environments, including SAN/NAS and Dell EMC technologies
- Administer Dell backup and recovery solutions and ensure data protection standards are met
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity across infrastructure environments
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management for servers and applications
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution
- Implement automation using Power Shell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
- Ensure systems adhere to security and compliance standards
- Support hybrid and cloud‑integrated infrastructure environments
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects from design through implementation
- Maintain documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on infrastructure initiatives
- Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure administration, or enterprise IT support
- Strong experience with Linux systems, specifically Oracle Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Hands‑on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere preferred)
- Experience supporting enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS, Dell EMC)
- Experience with Dell backup and recovery tools
- Scripting experience with Power Shell, Bash, or Python
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Understanding of infrastructure security and system hardening practices
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience with Nutanix or Hyper‑V
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of networking concepts including VLANs and network configuration
- Relevant certifications such as VCP, RHCSA, or similar
