About the CompanyHelix Linear Technologies designs and manufactures high‑precision motion control systems for industries where performance matters most, including aerospace, medical devices, defense, and advanced automation. Our products power mission‑critical applications where reliability and precision down to ±0.0001 inches make all the difference.
Our vision is to engineer what’s possible in motion, with precision, integrity, and purpose. We pursue that vision by designing, machining, grinding, and assembling critical motion components in‑house, including precision ball screws and linear systems. Our clean, climate‑controlled facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing equipment including Citizen Swiss lathes, multi‑axis CNC mills, precision grinders, and specialized assembly and test systems.
Helix is growing and investing in new equipment, advanced processes, and the systems required to scale with discipline. As we expand, we’re building a world‑class precision manufacturing operation, which means higher standards for ownership, communication, urgency, and accountability across every role on the floor.
At Helix, we value ownership, technical excellence, and a growth mindset. If you’re motivated by meaningful work at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and manufacturing, and want to grow with a company shaping the future of motion control, we’d love to meet you.
About the PositionAs a CNC Machinist, you'll own the full cycle, multi‑axis setup, fixturing, first article inspection, and in‑process quality, on some of the most complex and tight‑tolerance work on the floor.
You operate independently, solve problems without escalation, and bring a level of precision and judgment that sets the standard for the team around you.
This role is for someone who has done it at the highest level in a regulated environment and is ready to own it here.
Responsibilities- Independently set up and operate multi‑axis CNC turning and milling centers; manage offsets, feeds, speeds, and tooling for tight‑tolerance production
- Design, build, and validate fixtures and work holding solutions for non‑standard or complex parts
- Lead first article inspection (FAI) processes; complete FAI documentation and coordinate with Quality on AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements
- Perform in‑process inspection and dimensional verification using CMM, surface plates, and precision hand tools
- Identify and resolve machining issues independently, tool wear, deflection, chatter, dimensional drift, without requiring engineering escalation
- Read and interpret complex GD&T callouts, engineering drawings, and customer specifications
- Maintain and communicate accurate setup sheets and job documentation
- Contribute to process improvement; identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, improve yield, or eliminate rework
- Serve as a technical resource to Machinist I and II team members
- You operate without supervision: you know what needs to happen and you make it happen
- You hold yourself to aerospace‑grade standards, not just for inspections, but because it’s who you are
- You can program it, set it up, fixture it, and inspect it, and you’ve done all four in production
- You think in root causes, not workarounds
- You communicate clearly with engineering and quality, and you do it proactively
- You take ownership of your work from first chip to final inspection
- First articles are completed accurately and on time, with clean documentation
- Complex setups are proven out with minimal scrap or rework
- You catch and correct issues before they reach Quality or downstream operations
- Engineering and Quality view you as a peer; they trust your judgment
- Tier I and II machinists around you are better for having worked with you
- Our manufacturing culture is built around precision, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
- You’ll work in a clean, climate‑controlled facility with advanced equipment, alongside machinists, engineers, operators, and commercial team members who take pride in their work and hold themselves to high standards
