A Brief OverviewAhuja 7 th floor is a 36‑bed medical/surgical unit. We specialize in post‑operative care of patients following orthopedic, colorectal, gynecologic, general surgery, ENT, neuro and vascular procedures. We work closely with nurse practitioners, residents, orthopedic coordinators, and attending physicians/surgeons. Our patients range from 15 years old to 100+. The unit is staffed by a manager, assistant nurse manager, RNs, LPNs, PCNAs, patient experience liaisons, and clerical associates.
We are DNV certified for our hip/knee and spine programs.
Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee Replacement, Total Shoulder Replacement, Spinal Laminectomy/fusions, Bowel resections, Colectomies, Thyroidectomies, Mastectomies are a few of the more common surgeries we care for here on Ahuja 7. We also care for emergent surgical needs such as fractures, appendicitis and cholecystitis.
What You Will Do- Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship‑based nursing care.
- Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
- Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
- Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
- Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- (BSN) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – required
- (MN) Master in Nursing – required
- Knowledge of the nursing process and practice – required proficiency.
- Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices) – required proficiency.
- Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi‑State Compact License – required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – may be required based on unit standards.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – may be required based on unit standards.
