Beechmont Country Club is seeking a service and hospitality-minded Assistant Aquatics Director. This full‑time, seasonal position supports the Aquatics Manager with all pool and swim activities, focusing on families, exciting programming, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Reports to: Aquatics Director
Supervisors: Swimming Instructors, Lifeguards, Coaches
Classification: Full‑Time Seasonal
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Additional Compensation: Lesson and programming commissions, scholarship opportunities, meals, uniforms, and more.
Education and/or Experience- Previous Lead Guard experience
- Competitive swimming experience as either a coach or athlete preferred
- Lifeguard training and experience teaching swim lessons required
- Private club experience preferred
- Hospitality, service, and entrepreneurial spirit
- Familiarity with pool chemistry, operation, and management
- Supports pool safety programs and risk management
- Engaging learn‑to‑swim and developmental/competitive instruction
- Knowledge of and ability to manage emergency situations
Full‑time, seasonal position that assists the Aquatics Director in the daily management of all pool and swim activities. Maintains a safe, clean, and appealing swim program and facilities for members, children, and guests.
Job Tasks/Duties- Supervises pool area, including changing facilities and guard facilities. Seeks to maintain a resort‑like presentation of the pool and related facilities.
- Safeguards and ensures proper care of all pool equipment and furnishings.
- Assists in coordination and oversight of pool activities including events, swim club, lessons, and open swimming.
- Assists in the supervision of lifeguards, assistant coaches, and other pool personnel.
- Assists with mini camps for juniors.
- Provides swim lessons, group clinics, and other programs for members.
- Implements safety programs set forth by the Aquatics Director.
- Assists with collecting charges and fees for all swim‑related activities.
- Interprets and enforces pool rules and regulations.
- Partners with the pool service team to ensure service and cleanliness standards are being met.
- Maintains visible presence during peak times of activity.
- Assists with maintaining all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemistry, accident reports, lifeguard and instructor schedules, etc.
- Adheres to all federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and employment.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Aquatics Manager.
Special Requirements
- Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate.
- Red Cross progressive Swimming Instructor Certificate or comparable certification desired.
- American Red Cross Basic First Aid required, training on AED units and a current Red Cross CPR card.
- Working conditions are often hot, humid, slippery, and wet.
- Able to work in a busy, noisy environment.
- Able to tolerate the smell of chlorine and frequent exposure to cleaning agents.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Continuous standing and walking.
