Job Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

This instructor is responsible to the Division Dean for Business Technologies for the delivery of quality instruction and management of students enrolled in selected Legal Assistant/Paralegal and Criminal Justice Courses to include advisement of students in these and all General Business Programs. Responsibilities occur in the areas of instructional development, teaching performance, student advisement, professional development, college/community service, and instructional management

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction including hands-on, Zoom and/or online delivery
  • Classroom management and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development
  • Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis
  • Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress

Instructional Development:

  • Assist in the development of computer technology curriculum as needed
  • Recommend for approval instructional materials for a course(s).
  • Work with other areas of the college as needed such as tutoring, retention, etc. to help ensure student success

Professional Development:

  • Attend relevant professional meetings
  • Represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at the local, state, and national levels
Minimum and Additional Requirements

Juris doctorate from an ABA-approved law school and admission to the South Carolina Bar, experience teaching in a higher education setting, and experience using online learning management systems (such as Blackboard) is strongly preferred
