Title: 21st Century Community Learning Center Front Desk Receptionist-Whale Branch Elementary Club

Supervisor: 21st CCLC Site Director

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the 21st CCLC Site Director, the 21st Century CCLC Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for assisting with the management of the front desk or entry area. This includes monitoring and recording members and guest attendance, answering phone calls for the after school program, improving communication with parents of students in the program and following safety procedures for check in/out

Qualifications
:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements which follow are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education degree/certificate is desired.

Experience: working with youth, parents, and community.

Skills:

  • Ability to deal diplomatically with the general public.
  • Ability to relate effectively to a diverse population.
  • Data entry skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Organizational skills.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a welcoming, neat, and friendly entry area for the after-school program.
  • Create and maintain student attendance tracking system and member files.
  • Processing membership applications.
  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Assist in after-school special events and projects.

Relationships:

  • Maintains close, daily contact with the Site Director to discuss issues and provide/receive information.
  • Has regular contact with members as needed to provide guidance and counseling.
  • Has regular contact with and communicates to parents of participants.
  • Maintain relationships with teachers and administrative staff of the school.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach above shoulders.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
  • Must be able to assist members in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance to maintain supervision of Club members.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
