Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter, enhancing access and inclusion for students as you support their educational journey across multiple school locations. This position spans the  academic year, offering steady, full-time hours from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027. You'll be placed at one of several distinctive schools, ranging from high school to K-8, within a vibrant coastal region.

Qualifications:

• Valid credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter, with a minimum score of 3.5 on the EIPA assessment
• Previous experience interpreting in an educational or school environment
• Thorough knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to adapt communication styles for diverse student needs
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with students, educators, and support staff
• Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive sign language interpreting services in assigned classrooms and throughout the school
• Facilitate clear communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
• Support student participation in both instructional and extracurricular activities
• Help create a welcoming, equitable educational environment
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure all interactions adhere to professional and ethical standards
