Located on our New River Campus in Bluffton, under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Trades Specialist performs skilled maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, and custodial duties to maintain safe, clean, and functional buildings, grounds, and equipment across multiple college campuses. The position provides team leadership for custodial staff, coordinates supplies, and supports event setups and breakdowns while exercising independent judgment in daily operations.

Formal training or trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Preferred: A high school diploma and two (2) years directly related work experience; or 10th grade education and four (4) years directly related work experience.
Employee will be expected to respond to the needs of all campus sites with the possibility of 24/7 calls. Duties may entail heavy manual labor, climbing ladders, working from elevated level, and exposure to non-toxic fumes; duties frequently require lifting up to 70 lbs, stooping, bending, and working awkward positions. Tasks involve working with power equipment w/moving parts and possible exposure to hazardous waste materials and caustic substances.
Must possess a valid S.C. driver’s license and travel to other
