Description:
This is a Stepdown role that frequently floats to Intensive Care and Medical-Surgical units.
Travelers must have both ICU and PCU experience.
Patient ratios are as follows:
Stepdown 1:4-5; ICU 1:2;
Medical-Surgical 1:5-6.Floating is required across Stepdown, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units.
Scrubs required:
Royal Blue and White.
Daily census is approximately 17.The unit has 21 beds and operates with non-titrating drips.
Common medications include Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene.
Services provided in this unit include Vascular procedures, NSTEMI management, and renal dialysis.
The team includes interdisciplinary support from Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and others.
The unit handles a variety of patient diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, and post-cardiac procedures.
Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff.
Candidates should possess skills in managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP, cardiac telemetry, and various nursing protocols.
The charting system used is Meditech; experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Floating policies comply with current standards and include an appropriate orientation to new units.
