This is a nursing role that involves working primarily in a medical-surgical unit but frequently floating to step down and telemetry units. The nurse must be comfortable transitioning between these areas as needed. Ratios on the step down unit are 1:4-5, while on the medical-surgical unit they are 1:5-6. The nurse will provide care for a variety of surgical and orthopedic patients, as well as patients requiring medical oversight.
Demonstrated skills required include peripheral line management, telemetry monitoring, and various patient assessments. Additional competencies should include management of complex medical conditions and surgical recovery protocols. The facility emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, and nurses will work alongside a variety of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Flexibility with scheduling is important, as working weekends and holidays may be required. Please confirm that you are comfortable with frequent floating and have the required experience before applying.
This position does not provide scrubs; specific dress code applies. EMR used will be Meditech, and experience with this system is a plus.
