Candidates must be comfortable floating frequently between Med Surg and Step Down units.
Candidates must not live within 50 miles of the facility.
Candidates must have no license or background issues.
Description:
This Med Surg role frequently floats to Step Down and Medical/Surgical units.
Must be comfortable doing both.
Patient ratios are as follows:
Step Down 1:4-5, Med Surg 1:5-6.Experience in Charge roles is preferred.
Charting system experience preferred.
The unit profile includes a general surgical and orthopedic focus with medical overflow.
Daily census varies, with a wide range of patient diagnoses primarily surgical and orthopedic.
Common procedures include total knee arthroplasties, total hip arthroplasties, and surgical repairs.
Responsibilities include managing various therapies and interventions, maintaining IVs, and providing wound care.
Interdisciplinary support consists of various specialties including physical therapy and pharmacy.
Candidates should expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation.
This position requires a high level of adaptability due to frequent floating.
