American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med-Surg/Stepdown night shift position requiring SC or compact RN licensure and 2 years of medical-surgical experience.

• Med-Surg unit with frequent floating to PCU/Stepdown and other MS/Tele units
• Stepdown patient ratios of 1:4-5 and Medsurg ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend rotation required
• Floating required within the hospital in accordance with facility floating policies
• Uses Meditech EMR, experience preferred but not required
• Pediatric patients are not assigned to travelers without pediatric experience

• Active SC state RN license or compact license required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required in addition to Med-Surg experience
• Skilled in IV starts and maintenance
• Comfortable with high patient-to-caregiver ratios and frequent floating
• Must have a clean license and background history

• Provide nursing care across Med-Surg, Stepdown/PCU, and Telemetry patient populations
• Holiday and weekend coverage required on a rotating basis with staff
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Previous employees must have been in good standing and separated for at least one year to be eligible for rehire
• Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
