American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and stepdown/PCU experience for frequent floating.

• 22-bed adult MS Oncology unit (5T)
• Frequently floats to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and Med Surg ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital, including to PCU-type units
• Uses Meditech EMR

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations
• IV start skills required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required

• Provide direct patient care on a busy adult MS Oncology unit with frequent floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Must be comfortable floating frequently between units with varying patient ratios
• Floating is conducted in accordance with facility policy and includes appropriate orientation to new units
• Holiday and weekend coverage required on a rotating basis with staff
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility for eligibility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
