American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring SC or compact RN licensure and prior stepdown/PCU experience.

• 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow
• Frequent floating between Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units required
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on Med Surg and 1:4-5 on Stepdown
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed
• Uses Meditech EMR

• Active SC or compact RN license required prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred

• Provide nursing care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units as assigned
• Floating occurs within a single hospital in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience
• Orientation to new units provided when floating per Joint Commission standards
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No candidates with license or background issues will be accepted
• Former employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at departure
• Minimal to no RTO permitted, especially during the first weeks of assignment
